Romanian barley exports continue to go down


In October 2016 Romania decreased barley exports to 34 KMT, which was 80% less than record amount for this month, exported in October 2015 (165 KMT) and 58% lower than 5-year average for this month (82 KMT), reports UkrAgroConsult.

Thus, since the beginning of 2016/17 (July-October) Romanian barley exports decreased to 658 KMT (-45% y/y) compared to 1187 KMT exported over the same period last season.

Key buyers of October 2016 were Israel, Libya, Syria and France. 

Over July-October 2016/17 lower purchasing activity is seen from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Libya, Algeria. Higher demand is observed from Spain and Greece.
