SC Complex Delta SRL, a Romanian company, has won the tender for performance of maintenance dredging works at the Izmail and Reni seaports. The Ukrainian Seaports Authority (USPA) announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.

The cost of the dredging works is almost UAH 32 million. The total estimated volume of soil to be removed is 200,000 cubic meters, including up to 156,000 cubic meters at the Ismail seaport and up to 44,000 cubic meters at the Reni seaport.

According to the terms of the tender, the dredging works must be completed by March 31, 2019.

According to the USPA, SC Complex Delta SRL will be the first Romanian company to perform maintenance dredging works in Ukraine. "We are pleased that the contract for dredging works in the Danube ports has been signed with the contractor… The winning company can now mobilize its fleet and begin the work required to maintain the navigational dimensions in Izmail and Reni. This will facilitate improvement of the conditions for processing the existing cargo flows and attracting new ones, increase of ship calls, and development of business in general," the USPA’s head Raivis Veckagans said, commenting on the signing of the contract with the Romanian company.

The document was signed on August 2.

Bidding took place on July 9. According to the USPA, three companies – SC Complex Delta SRL (Romania), Natural Ecoconstruct SRL (Romania) and Ukrstroyservis LLC (Ukraine) – participated in the bidding process. The winner of the tender offered to perform the dredging works at a price that is UAH 3.8 million or almost 11% lower than the USPA’s expected cost.

As the CFTS reported, the USPA recently invited fresh tenders for maintenance dredging works at the Odesa seaport.
