
Romanian corn exports are 9% higher y/y

Since the beginning of the current season (September-August) corn exports of Romania equaled 3375.5 KMT, which is 9% higher than over the same period last year - 3086 KMT, reports UkrAgroConsult.
In August 2016/17 MY Romania exported only 30 KMT of corn, which was lower than over the previous two seasons (91 KMT in August 2016; 199 KMT in August 2015) and lower than 5-year average for this month – 80 KMT.
Egypt was the key buyer of the 2016/17 season with 397 KMT (128.5 KMT over September-August 2015/16).
Turkey continues to be interested in Romanian corn. France, Lebanon and Portugal grew imports of corn, while Spain, the Netherlands and Italy sharply decreased their import volumes.
