Romanian farmers are at final stage of winter crops sowing and corn harvesting


Last week average air temperature was 1-2 ºС lower than norms in the South-Western part of Romania. At the rest of the territory it fluctuated within +8..+17ºС, which corresponded the multiyear norms, with maximum reaching +21ºС and minimum -  -3 ºС in the night time.

5 -m soil layer warmed to +12..+18ºС, which was favorable for further winter crops sowing, their germination, emergence and tillering.

Light rains were observed in the Southern, Central and North-Eastern parts (10-15 mm) and continued to replenish soil moisture stocks particularly in the key producing region of Southern Romania, informs UkrAgroConsult. Still extensive parts of Northern, South-Eastern Romania are still suffering from the soil drought.  Farmers of Romania are at the final stages of winter crops sowing and corn harvesting.
