Romanian harvesting campaign is gradually finishing


Average air temperatures decreased during the reporting week and corresponded multiyear norms - +14..+27ºС. Maximum temperature rose to +33ºС in the Southern parts, minimum lowered to +7ºС in the night time. Precipitations were observed mainly in Western, Northern and Central regions. Northern parts suffered from hail. Low amount of precipitations was observed in the Southern regions, and dry phenomena is seen Danube`s Delta region.

Romanian farmers continue to harvest winter crops, reporting on high yields. Due to the higher number of new hybrids application, rapeseed yield reaches over 4 MT/ha in some Southern counties. Next week main harvesting works on winter grain crops are expected to be finished.

Sunflower continues to be in the flowering stage all over the territory of the country and early sown varieties in the Southern regions entered the first stages of seed maturation. Crops condition is mostly good.

Spring oilseed soil moisture stocks remain at satisfactory and in some places are at optimal levels.
