Romanian sunseed exports increased by 9% against last season


As a rule, in the second half of the season exports of Romanian fat and oil complex are going down, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Over September-March 2016/17 MY exports of Romanian sunseed exceeded the volumes shipped during the previous two seasons, equaling 1177 KMT (over September-August 2015/16 MY – 1081 KMT). Export pace is 14% higher compared to the September-March period of 2015/16 MY (1028.4 KMT)

Romanian traders managed to increase exports thanks to the higher sunseed production in 2016. Sunseed crop reached 1953 KMT and was 9% higher than the volume obtained in 2015.

EU countries traditionally remain key importers of Romanian sunseed. Top-buyer – the Netherlands increased imports to 280 KMT (261 KMT over September-March 2015/16). France purchased 272 KMT (127 KMT), Bulgaria – 70 KMT (60.4 KMT).
