Russia. Ag Ministry raised its grain export forecast again


Russia increased its grain export potential in the current crop year (July 1, 2016 – June 30, 2017) to 40 MMT, said Russian ag minister Aleksander Tkachev.

“The country has got 119 MMT of grain – a record high in Russia’s new history. Grain export potential was raised to 40 MMT,” the ministry’s press service cites Tkachev as saying.

104.8 MMT of grain in net weight was harvested in 2015; exports totaled 33.9 MMT, including 24.6 MMT of wheat.

According to the Russian statistics agency, the country’s 2016 grain crop amounted to 119.1 MMT in net weight, including 73.3 MMT of wheat.
