The European part of Russia and the Southern and North Caucasian federal districts were exposed to above-normal air temperatures at the beginning of the month. The average daily air temperature was largely 2-4°C above normal. On the warmest days, air temperature peaked at 7…10°C, even at 15…18°C in the south. It became cold in most parts of European Russia on November 11-20, with low air temperatures persisting until the end of the month. On November 11-13, the average daily air temperature was 3-6°C below normal. The lowest air temperature at the time was registered at -15…-10°C (locally down at -20°C and lower), with -4…-1°C in the daytime. Almost no snow was seen in the field in most areas on November 11-20, and minimum soil temperature at the depth of winter cereals’ tillering node (3 cm) dropped to -9…-5°C (locally to -13…-10°C) around November 15. The average daily air temperature on November 21-30 was close to normal at -4…-2°C in the daytime and -10…-5°C at night.

The majority of the federal districts received 20-35 mm of precipitation during the month, locally 5-15 mm in the south. Heavy snowfall occurred in northern and eastern parts of European Russia on November 11-30. Monthly precipitation amounted to 40-50 mm there, even up to 60-80 mm in some region. As of the end of November, the fields were covered with snow everywhere. Its height varied from 1-5 cm to 15-25 cm. the depth of soil freezing is mostly within 20-35 cm (locally up to 40-50 cm).

Winter crops did not resume growth in most fields in November after they stopped it around October 25. The agrometeorological conditions were mostly fair for winter crops to begin dormancy. No dangerously low air and soil temperatures were observed, reports UkrAgroConsult.

As of November 30, the wheat harvest in Russia was 99.2% complete with 73.4 MMT of grain threshed. Barley had been harvested from 99% of acreage with its crop at 17.7 MMT. The respective values for corn equal 92.4% and 11 MMT.
