Russia and Brazil have discussed the trade with agricultural products


22 January 2017, the Minister of agriculture of the Russian Federation Alexander Tkachev held a working meeting with Minister of agriculture, livestock and supply of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Blairo Maggie

Alexander Tkachev at the meeting noted that the commodity turnover of agricultural products, raw materials and foodstuffs between the two countries amounted to 2.2 billion U.S. dollars.
"Last year we resumed the export of buckwheat in Brazil, began deliveries of Russian potato powder and confectionery products", — said the head of the Ministry of agriculture.

Brazil, in turn, increased supplies of cheese and cottage cheese, soybeans, peanuts, and citrus fruits to the Russian market.

The Ministers noted the existing possibilities of growth in bilateral trade.
"Russia is interested in export of grain and fishery products to Brazil. I hope that soon we will be able to solve the issues between Supervisory agencies of the two countries and the start of delivery", — said Alexander Tkachev.

The sides also outlined the prospective directions of Russian-Brazilian cooperation. We are talking about the creation of joint ventures on the territory of our country, including the processing of agricultural products, food production, and exchange of innovative agricultural technologies.

Following the meeting, Alexander Tkachev invited Blaire Maggie to visit the Russian agro-industrial exhibition "Golden autumn 2017" to be held in Moscow in autumn of the current year and the 21st St. Petersburg international economic forum June 1st-3rd, and III Eastern economic forum on 6-7 September.
