Russia closed MY 2016/17 with record linseed exports

Traditionally, Russia built up linseed exports toward the end of the season: it supplied 35.5 KMT to foreign markets in August 2016/17 against 6.2 KMT a month earlier. The exports are up 6.3% from August 2016 (33.4 KMT). Throughout the season, linseed exports were much higher than a year ago. They hit a record of over 579 KMT for the whole 2016/17 season that is up 29.5% from the same time last season (447.3 KMT), reports UkrAgroConsult.

The range of linseed export destinations underwent no significant changes in MY 2016/17. Although shipments to Europe decreased 12% to 285 KMT, this is still the top destination for Russian exporters, absorbing 49% of total exports. Meanwhile, a considerable rise was registered in linseed purchases to Turkey (39% of total exports), China (5%) and Vietnam (4%).
