Russia. Confectionery production for the year increased by 2.5%

Production of all kinds of confectionery in Russia increased last year by 2.5% to 3.63 mln t. this informs the research Center of the confectionery market, citing the data of Rosstat

The best things in the segment of chocolate products, whose production was higher by 8% and amounted to 710 thousand tons. As notes "Interfax", the crisis severely affected chocolate production, it has risen significantly. Meanwhile, until the end of 2016, the positive dynamics of production of confectionery products has provided a segment of flour confectionery products of long storage (for example, biscuits, wafers, cakes and gingerbread).

In 2017 the production of all types of flour confectionery products of long and short periods of storage increased by 5.7%, to 1.85 million tonnes.

Manufacture of sugar confectionery fell by almost 3%, to 1.07 million tonnes.

The increase in the production of confectionery experts associated with the recovery of consumption of sugar for the domestic market and export increase.
