Russia declined exports of rapeseed oil and meal

Rapeseed oil exports in season 2015/16 are well behind the record figures of the previous two seasons. In season 2015/16 237.5 KMT of this product was exported that was 103 KMT less than in season 2014/15 (340.3 KMT). Norway, Lithuania and China remained the main consumers of rapeseed oil.

Rapeseed meal exports to foreign markets reached 184.2 KMT in season 2015/16 that was 110.6 KMT less than during the same period in season 2014/15 (294.8 KMT). The geography of rapeseed meal export is not very wide, almost all exported meal was supplied to European countries.

In the new 2016/17 season the trend is likely to continue, and further reduction of Russian export capacity may be expected. This is due to rapeseed acreage reduction, growing domestic demand for rapeseed processed products and increased interest of crushers in this oil crop.

Further development of oilseeds/vegoils market in the 2016/17 season will be discussed at the IV International Conference “Black Sea Oil Trade-2016”, September 7, 2016, Kyiv, Ukraine. Organizer - consulting agency UkrAgroConsult.
