Russia. Deteriorated conditions for corn flowering and grain filling

Farmers of Krasnodar, Voronezh and Rostov regions started corn harvesting. As for August 24, corn had been harvested from 4.5 Th ha and 23.1 KMT had been obtained with average yield 5.11 MT/ha, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Late-sown corn faced deterioration of conditions for flowering and grain filling. The cobs may end up underfilled. The conditions for sunflower seed filling worsened, too. The best time for planting winter cereals for the 2018 harvest has already come in the east of the North-Western federal district and in the north-east of the Volga one. The conditions for planting were scarcely favorable because of rainfalls, locally due to too wet topsoil.
