Russia doubled grain exports to South-Eastern Asia


Russia doubled grain exports to South-East Asian countries in the current season 2016/17. RosSelkhozNadzor reports that Russia exported roughly 587 KMT of grain to АСЕАН countries from July till December 2016, or twice as much as at the same time last season. About 80% of the exports were represented by wheat deliveries (467 KMT) and 20% by corn (118 KMT).

Indonesia became the top importer of Russian grain in the region, UkrAgroConsult notes. Russia has exported 252.3 KMT of wheat to Indonesia since the beginning of the current marketing year (233.5 KMT at the same time in MY 2015/16). The top importers also included Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines.
