Russia. EFKO Group preparing own raw material sources for crushing facilities

EFKO Group, a major Russian oilseed crusher, continues its program of comprehensive support to Russian growers for increasing oilseed yields and total harvests. In particular, the company aims to meet Russia’s domestic needs for soybean products with own-produced raw material as much as possible, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Over RUB 1 Bl was invested in the project in 2016. The efficiency of this investment can be judged by the example of Belgorod region, where over 500 KMT of soybeans were harvested for the first time ever with their yield being the highest in Russia at 2.44 MT/ha. Some growers in Belgorod and Kursk regions managed to achieve soybean yields of 3.0-3.3 MT/ha.

In the medium-term outlook, this project will allow making the Central federal district a soybeans surplus region and reducing Russia’s dependence on imported raw materials.
