Russia. Farmers in Stavropol region started planting winter rape


Fall planting has been kicked off in Stavropol region. Half the needed seed stock was prepared by September. This was told a meeting at the regional agriculture department.

Farmers in the region are starting to sow winter rape while weather is favorable, reports UkrAgroConsult.

In addition, the sunseed harvest is going on. So, this crop was harvested from 12.2 Th ha by September 4 that is 3.8% of its forecast harvest area (322.3 Th ha). At the moment, the harvest progress and yields are below last year, therefore growers are to complete this work on a tight schedule and with no losses.
