Russia. First rapeseed parcel from Novosibirsk region to be shipped to China

Russia continues boosting agricultural trade with China, reports UkrAgroConsult. So, the first rapeseed parcel with a total weight of 1.8 KMT has been prepared for shipment in Novosibirsk region. By now, RosSelkhozNadzor has examined it and issued phytosanitary certificates.

China previously announced its plans to supply soybeans from Khabarovsk, Primorsky, Zabaykalsky, Amur regions, the Jewish autonomous region and rapeseed from the Siberian and Far Eastern federal districts.

UkrAgroConsult reminds that Russian soybean exports to China have increased significantly over last years. While the deliveries were below 40 KMT as recently as in 2012/13, they exceeded 440 KMT in 2015/16. Rapeseed is also exported to China, since MY 2013/14. Its shipments increased from 4.7 KMT to 14.4 KMT by MY 2015/16. In view of growing Chinese interest in oilseeds of Russian origin, these markets’ capacity is to expand in the current season.
