Russia. Grain exports from Caspian port to Iran increase by 30%

Press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Dagestan reported that over the first nine months of 2017, exports of Russian wheat, rye and corn to Iran through Makhachkala Sea Commercial port grew by almost 30%, reaching 220 KMT. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Dagestan, grain deliveries from Russia through Makhachkala port will only grow.

Grain enters trade port by road and rail, mainly from Krasnodar and Stavropol regions, as well as from Rostov oblast. Before loading onto ships, grain enters special bins for temporary storage, where its quality is checked. Makhachkala port possesses 12 storage bins like that - 1.5 KMT each. Now grain terminal of the port works around the clock, as its production capacity is not enough, reports UkrAgroConsult.
