Russia. Harvest still advancing at the slowest pace in last few years


The grain harvest lags far behind last year in the Volga and Central federal districts. In the Southern and North Caucasian districts, it has already outpaced that of 2016.

By August 4, 2017, Russian farmers harvested 46825 KMT of early grains and pulses from 11137 Th ha with a yield of 4.20 MT/ha, reports UkrAgroConsult.

At the same time in 2016, early grains and pulses were already harvested from 15069 Th ha with a crop of 55355 KMT and a yield of 3.67 MT/ha.

Russian farmers harvested 39547 KMT of wheat (41871 KMT in 2016) and 5165 KMT of barley (7098 KMT of 2016) with a yield of 4.39 MT/ha and 3.60 MT/ha, correspondently.
