Russia. Harvested area is 2.5 times lower than last year to date


The harvest of cereals and pulses is under way in the republics of the Southern and North-Caucasian federal districts of Russia, reports UkrAgroConsult.

In total, Russian farmers harvested 4140.7 KMT of cereals from 933.4 Th ha by July 7, 2017, with an average yield of 4.44 MT/ha. This area is two and a half times smaller than by the same date last year – 2213.6 Th ha (9586.5 KMT with a yield of 4.33 MT/ha in 2016).

This includes 2716 KMT harvested from 571.3 Th ha in the Southern federal district, with an average yield of 4.75 MT/ha. In the North Caucasian federal district, 1424.7 KMT was harvested from 362.1 Th ha with a yield of 3.93 MT/ha.
