Russia has imposed restrictions on the supply of vegetables and fruits from Burundi through Belarus

16 January 2017 vegetable products from the African country is allowed to import only directly, through the checkpoints located in the Russian sector of the external borders of the Eurasian economic Union.

The reason for limiting the Agency called a significant increase in the supply of allegedly Burundian fruit and vegetables through Belarus on the background of "the lack of information on the extent of cultivation and production" of agricultural products in Burundi.
