Russia increased pork production for slaughter by 5.7%


From January to April this year, production of pigs for slaughter in live weight in agricultural organizations increased by 5.7% compared to the same period last year and amounted to more than 1.46 million tons.

"The main increase in pork production has provided farmers in Pskov, Belgorod, Kursk, Voronezh, Tver areas and in Stavropol region", — said the Director of the Department of animal husbandry and breeding Ministry of agriculture of Kharon Amerkhanov.

A slight decline in production recorded in Tomsk, Penza, Vladimir, and Vologda oblasts, and Krasnodar Krai.
