Russia increased the export of meat products 60%


For the first 9 months of this year, the country exported 150 thousand tons of meat products

That's 60% more than in the corresponding period last year, according to the Ministry of agriculture following the meeting of the interdepartmental working group on the development and support of agricultural exports. It was conducted by Deputy Minister of agriculture Eugene Gromyko.

Noting that this year in Russia will be a record harvest of sugar beet is 50 million tons, he stated that "this will significantly increase sugar exports – are planning to deliver abroad in the next year hundreds of thousands of tons".

These products are identified as indicators of export growth in the priority project "the Export of agricultural products", which was developed by the Ministry of agriculture in the framework of the main directions of strategic development of "international cooperation and exports". The project aims to increase exports of agricultural products is not less than 12.5% by the end of 2018, and not less than 26.7% by the end of 2020.

E. Gromyko noted that according to forecasts of the Food and agriculture organization of the UN (FAO), by 2030 world output of agriculture will increase 1.5 times, exceeding $9 trillion.

"This is a serious opportunity to ensure the growth of agricultural production and products of its processing, thereby to increase Russia's share in global production", — said the Deputy Minister.
