Russia. Milk production at agricultural enterprises increased by 3.7%


In January-July 2018, milk production at agricultural enterprises amounted to 9660,9 thousand tons, which is 3.7% more than during the same period last year, writes The DairyNews, citing the Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation.

The greatest increase in milk production is observed at agricultural enterprises of Krasnodar region (+47.6 thousand tons or 9.2%), Voronezh (+38.9 thousand tons or 11.3%), Kaluga (+28.7 thousand tons or 19.4%), Novosibirsk (+20.8 thousand tons or 6.2%), Tyumen (+16.8 thousand tons or 9.7%) and Lipetsk regions (+16.1 thousand tons or 15.7%).

For seven months of the current year the average milk yield per 1 milking cow at agricultural enterprises not belonging to small businesses amounted to 3856 kg or 102 kg (+2.7%) more than the corresponding level in 2017.

The greatest increase in milk production was achieved in the Amur region (+491 kg), in Krasnodar region (+443 kg), in Penza region (+433 kg), in the Republic of Karelia (+428 kg) and in Kurgan region (+424 kg).
