Russia. Milling wheat stocks up 25% from last year


According to the Russian State Statistics Committee, grain inventories at farming, procuring and processing companies totaled 57.78 MMT as of October 2017. This is an all-time high for Russia and 16.5% more than a year ago, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Wheat stocks at procuring and processing entities exceed last year’s volume by 20.8% (15.65 MMT, including 10.67 MMT of milling wheat – up 25.2% year-on-year).

Barley inventories increased 30.1% to 2.46 MMT, while those of corn were up 40.2% at 742 KMT, buckwheat up 6.6% at 68 KMT, millet up 19.9% at 34 KMT, oats up 18.7% at 159 KMT, and rye up 6% at 616 KMT. Rice stocks dropped by 76.9% to 12 KMT as of early October.
