Russia. Ministry of Agriculture plans to set preferential tariff for grain transportation from Siberia
Russian Ministry of Agriculture intends to set preferential tariffs for grain transportation from Siberian Federal District. The thing is that internal prices for 1 MT of grain are RUB 3000-4000 lower than in the European part of Russia, reports UkrAgroConsult.
According to Russian Minister of Agriculture, preferential tariffs for grain transportation should adjust prices in the domestic market of Russia.
At the same time, according to Rosselkhoznadzor (Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance), 2018/19 exports of grains and grain products had totaled 34.5 MMT by January 15 (including the Customs Union countries). This is 2% more than a year ago. Wheat accounted for 25.9 MMT of this volume (including the Customs Union countries) that is up 11% year-on-year.
