Russia. New-crop wheat quality improved

The Federal Grain Quality Center started monitoring the quality of new-crop wheat on June 29, 2017. It had examined 47.7 MMT of grains (wheat, barley, rye) by October 20, reports UkrAgroConsult.

40.3 MMT of soft wheat (47.5% of the total crop) was examined in 49 regions of Russia. 68.5% of milling wheat was revealed in the course of this survey. The breakdown by grade is as follows: 1st grade wheat – not revealed, 2nd grade –  0.1%, 3rd grade – 24%, 4th grade – 44.4%, non-food 5th grade – 31.4%, off-grade wheat – 0.1%.

291.6 KMT of hard wheat (63.9% of the total crop) was examined in six regions of the country. 89.8% of milling wheat was revealed in the course of this survey. The breakdown by grade is as follows: 1st grade wheat – 0.4%, 2nd grade 1.2%, 3rd grade – 38.9%, 4th grade – 49.3%, and non-food 5th grade – 10.2%.
