Russia. New "investment" fee to be introduced in seaports

Ship owners operating in Russian ports will be forced to pay for their repair and modernization. The new investment fee was introduced to provide funding for commercial seaports reconstruction in Russian Federation. Corresponding amendments were made the day before the law "On seaports" came into effect. The amendments to the document go into effect on November 01, 2017, reports UkrAgroConsult.

It is reported that the investment fee should be directed to the construction of seaport infrastructure facilities. The procedure for determining the amount of the investment port fee and methods for its collection and application should be approved by the Government.
