Russia. North-South corridor to simplify grain logistics to countries of Middle East

The launch of North-South international transport corridor will help to double exports of grain, produced in Stavropol region, to countries of the Middle East and South-East Asia. "We deliver millions of tons of grain to Novorossiysk, and we do not supply at least a million of tons in this direction (the Middle East and South-East Asia countries). In other words, we can increase exports flow by 100-200%, stabilize prices, reach Asian countries", - said the Minister of Agriculture of Stavropol, Vladimir Sitnikov.

Now, the region exports about 900 KMT of grain in this direction. According to forecasts, opening of a new direction will help increase purchase prices for Stavropol grain by 10-15%, while the delivery time will decrease by five-seven days. Within the framework of this project, it is planned to connect railways of Azerbaijan, Iran and Russia, reports UkrAgroConsult.
