Russia. Novorossiysk port may be sold as soon as this year

One of Russia’s largest sea ports may be put up for privatization. These plans about the port of Novorossiysk are being now considered by the Federal Agency for State Property Management. Russian vice-premier I. Shuvalov also confirmed the possibility of the port’s sale.

“Other important issue concerning the Novorossiysk commercial sea port is being solved now. Whether the stake currently put up for sale by TransNeft will be really sold, whether they will split their stake, whether we’ll join our sale of 20% with this sale. In other words, the Agency is working now on the method of selling the state-owned property – to what extent we need to refuse from this stake and by what means,” said Shuvalov.

Sale of 20% in the Novorossiysk port is planned this year. The auction will be organized and maintained by the company Sberbank CIB, informs UkrAgroConsult.
