Russia. OTEKO planning to launch a grain terminal in Taman

JSC United Forwarding Company (OTEKO) is going to launch a 14.5 MMT grain terminal in Taman in H1 2019, reports UkrAgroConsult.

They are planning to kick off the facility’s construction in the near future. The company has signed an agreement with Louis Dreyfus, a major grain trader, for joint implementation of this project.

According to UkrAgroConsult data, the initiators of the project are confident that the new capacities will enjoy demand due to growth of Russian exports as vast grain planted areas are located in Russia. The neighboring Kazakhstan also has a big potential in this regard.

RUB 6 Bl will be put into the project by 2020. Previously, OTEK signed five agreements with RosMorPort on building and designing objects at the port of Taman. The company intends to invest USD 2 Bl in the project implementation over the entire port upgrade period.

Will Russia maintain leadership in the export market in future, given the current trend of port industry development? UkrAgroConsult is going to answer this question in a new market study “Russia: Record crop vs Grain-handling capacities deficit”.
