Russia. Over half of this season’s linseed exports went to the EU

Russia supplied more than 36 KMT of linseed to foreign markets in March 2017, up 47.8% from February (24.5 KMT) and up 3.1% from March 2016 (35.1 KMT), reports UkrAgroConsult. Overall, the 2016/17 season continues hitting highs. So, 453.7 KMT of the product was exported in the seven months of the current season. This is up more than 1.5 times from the same period last season.

UkrAgroConsult expects linseed exports to be more moderate in the remainder of the season with the season’s export potential totaling 560-570 KMT.

Traditionally, the bulk of Russian export linseed is shipped to the EU (51% of its total exports). In addition, having boosted imports of Russian linseed considerably, this season’s top importers remain Turkey (181.3 KMT against 48.6 KMT a year earlier), Vietnam (15.4 KMT against 2.1 KMT) and China (14.6 KMT against 6 KMT).
