Russia. Planting is 23% behind last year pace

As of April 24, early spring crops were seeded on the area of 6.4 Mln ha (8 Mln ha in 2016) or 12.2% of the intended area, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Early spring grains were seeded on an area of 3.7 Mln ha (4.8 Mln ha in 2016) or 11.9% of the intended area. Planting is 23% behind last year pace. This includes spring wheat planted on an area of 427.2 Th ha (3.1% of forecast), spring barley on 1.8 Mln ha (22.9%) and corn for grain on 794 Th ha (25.9%).
