Russia processed a record volume of rapeseed

Rapeseed oil output gained 111.5% in the first two months of the new 2018/19 season, also setting a new record of 101.1 KMT against 47.8 KMT a year ago, reports UkrAgroConsult.

In August 2018, Russian rape oil production hit an all-time high of 68.6 KMT. This is more than twice as much as in the previous month (32.5 KMT) and more than three times the volume produced in August 2017 (20.7 KMT).

Taking into account that this is an export-oriented product and up to 70% (or even more) of its total output is shipped abroad, crushers’ interest in rapeseed is supported this season by firm demand from the key importer – the EU – along with favorable prices in the European market at the beginning of the current season.
