Russia. Rapeseed processing remains all-time high in the 2018/19 season

Russia produced 31.7 KMT of rapeseed oil in December 2018, or 14.3% less than in the previous month and almost 29% less than in December 2017.

The current season featured a vigorous start: rapeseed processing stayed at a peak level throughout its first four months. Although rapeseed oil production had somewhat decreased by the mid-season, its overall volume in the first half of the marketing year (July-December) remained all-time high at 288.8 KMT (up 47% on the year), reports UkrAgroConsult.

According to UkrAgroConsult’s estimates, total rape oil production in the 2018/19 season will be at least 500 KMT. The reasons include the largest rapeseed crop in Russian history and a favorable situation in rapeseed product markets.
