Russia. Record rapeseed crop and record processing


Rape oil production in Russia in the past five months of the 2018/19 season was up 72.3% year-on-year at 283.1 KMT against 164.3 KMT in the same period last year, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Russia produced 63 KMT of rape oil in November 2018, or 11.3% more than in the previous month and up 51% from November 2017. For a fourth consecutive month this season, its production has been setting new records for the respective month.

UkrAgroConsult estimates that total rape oil output in the 2018/19 season will be at least 500 KMT. This will be contributed to by the country’s all-time heaviest rapeseed crop along with favorable market prices for rapeseed products.
