Russia reduced soybean meal exports in favor of domestic consumption


Russian soybean meal exports totaled 27.5 KMT in October 2016 against 15.5 KMT a month earlier and 33.9 KMT in October 2015, reports UkrAgroConsult. 43 KMT was exported for the two months of the current 2016/17 season, or 35 KMT (45%) less than at the same time last season (78.4 KMT).

Russia reduced export supply of soybean meal in favor of its domestic consumption. Please note that this season’s imports of soybean meal are also down year-on-year.

The range of soybean meal export destinations did not change this season, the market keeps focused on European nations. The volume of sales to key consumers of the Russian product has somewhat shrunk from last season, but the leaders still include Uzbekistan (20% of total exports), Poland (19%), Norway (18%), and the Netherlands (13%).
