Russia. South Korea may become a partner in construction of grain terminal in Zarubino


South Korea may enter into partnership with the "United Grain Company" ("UGC") in construction of the specialized Far Eastern grain terminal in the port of Zarubino. Recently the interested parties have organized a meeting to discuss possible mechanisms of interaction and participation of South Korean producers and financial institutions in terminal construction, reports UkrAgroConsult.

In the first stage (until 2020) it is planned to build a specialized grain terminal in Zarubino port with a capacity of 10 MMT per year with a subsequent expansion to 33.5 MMT per year.

Construction of the terminal is a top-priority and the most important investment project of the "UGC". Currently, the exploratory works are conducted in the portside and water area. The project documentation development is almost completed. At the first stage, it is planned to build a dock for Panamax and Post Panamax type vessels, the silo park for storing 220 KMT of grain, road and rail freight fronts.

Prospects of the Black Sea grain production and exports in the upcoming 2017/18 season will be discussed at the XIV International Conference “Black Sea Grain: Wind of Change”, which will take place on April 5-6, 2017 in InterContinental hotel, Kiev, Ukraine.
