Russia. Soybean cultivation experiment in Moscow region to continue

The practice of sowing soya in Moscow region may be continued next year, said Moscow region ag minister Adrey Razin, reports UkrAgroConsult.

“Certain crop was harvested, therefore we discussed the matter with the company that conducted a trial planting. Maybe, roughly 150-200 ha will be seeded to soya in Moscow region this year,” A. Razin told a press conference in Moscow.

He explained that soya is not widely grown in Moscow region because this crop is harvested rather late, whereas early snowfalls may occur in the region.
