Russia. Sunflower oil production remains record high

Overall vegoil output in Russia in the 2017/18 season (September-July) was up 1.5% year-over-year, at a record 5472.2 KMT against 5388.8 KMT a year ago. Higher production volumes are seen in all the crushing segments, reports UkrAgroConsult. 371.6 KMT of vegoils were produced in Russia in July 2018, or 18.4% less than in the previous month and 18% less than in July 2017.

The 2017/18 season features high monthly sunseed crushing volumes, which often exceed those of last season though the 2016/17 crop hit an all-time high. As a result, sunseed inventories dwindled and sunflower oil output fell towards the end of the season.

So, sunflower oil production dropped by 22.4% in July against the previous month and by 24.3% compared to July 2017. Nonetheless, it remains record high in the first eleven months of the 2017/18 season: 4382 KMT versus 4374 KMT a year ago.
