Russia. Sunseed inventories in Russia fell to 0.9 MMT


Russian growers held 1629.1 KMT of oilseeds as of April 1, 2018 that is 64 KMT (3.8%) less than at the same time last year (1693.1 KMT). Oilseed inventories reduced by 491.3 KMT in March.

Farmer sunseed stocks totaled 871 KMT – down 186.7 KMT (17.6%) from the same time last year (1057.7 KMT). Sunseed inventories reduced by 344 KMT in March, reports UkrAgroConsult.

According to information of the Russian Statistics Service, grain inventories at growing, procuring and processing entities totaled 32.89 MMT as of April 1, 2018 that was 16% more than on the same date last year.

Procuring and processing companies held 12.0 MMT of wheat, or up 18.9% on the year. This included 8.82 MMT of milling wheat (up 19% on the year).

The inventories of barley were up 3.6% on the year at 1.44 MMT, oats up 21.8% (154.7 KMT), rye up 23.7% (540.6 KMT), buckwheat up 65.3% (104.8 KMT), and corn stocks were up 2.1% at 1.34 MMT. Rice and millet stocks turned out to be lower than a year ago: down 61.3% and 68.2% (36.3 KMT and 10.1 KMT), respectively.
