Russia to deliver 100,000 tonnes of wheat to Syria

Russian government officials have said on Tuesday that it plans to send 100,000 tonnes of wheat to Syria.

When it would be delivered was not revealed but it was said to be partially by the end of 2016.

“I can’t say how much, but soon, including this year,” Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich, who is in charge of the agriculture sector, told reporters on Tuesday.

An agricultural ministry source told Reuters that it will be fourth class wheat from Siberia.

“We will be able to send it this year but they will probably receive it only next year,” the source claimed.
