Russia. Wheat stocks are up 25% year-on-year


According to the Russian State Statistics Committee, grain inventories at farming, procurement and processing entities totaled 42.19 MMT as of February 1, 2018, or 18.7% more than on the same date last year.

Procurement and processing entities held 25.3% more wheat than a year ago: 13.98 MMT, including 10.03 MMT of milling wheat (up 27.7% year-on-year), reports UkrAgroConsult.

Barley stocks increased 12.8% to 1.78 MMT, while buckwheat inventories gained 11.1% (99 KMT), oat stocks gained 6.2% (144 KMT), and rye stocks were up 15% year-on-year (до 582 KMT). Corn inventories were down 12.9% year-on-year at 1.41 MMT as of early February. Rice and millet inventories were also lower than in 2016: down 68.1% and 68.7% (41 KMT and 11 KMT), respectively.
