Russia. Wheat stocks down 31% by February


Some data of the Russian State Statistics Service say that 31.2 MMT of grain was available at Russia’s farming, procurement and processing entities as of February 1, 2019, or 26% less than a year earlier. Wheat stocks totaled 18.8 MMT (down 30.7% year-on-year), reports UkrAgroConsult.

As of the reporting date, Russian procurement and processing entities held the following amounts of grains:

- corn – 1064.4 KMT (- 24.5% from Feb. 01, 2018),

- barley – 1527.8 KMT (-14.1%),

- rye – 435.5 KMT (-25.1%).

According to updated information of the Russian State Statistics Service, the country harvested 113.2 MMT of grains and pulses in 2018. The preliminary harvest estimate equaled 112.9 MMT.
