Russia will bypass Ukraine grain exports


This season Russia may for the first time to take the second place in the world in terms of grain exports, relegating Ukraine to third. About it writes "Kommersant" with reference to the analytical centre "Sovekon".

As reported, the international grains Council (IGC) has increased the forecast of grain exports (excluding bean and its by-products) from Russia this season, a 1.7 million tons — up from 43.9 million tons. At the same time, for Ukraine the forecast was reduced 1.5 million tons to 41 million tons.
The leader of the ranking are the USA: a country can export in this season to 80.3 million tons of grain, including 47.7 million tonnes of maize.

The newspaper cites the Ministry of agriculture, which estimated that in 2017 Russia collected 134,1 million tons of grain in net weight, which is 11.2% more than the previous year, and 35.3% higher than the average yield for the years 2012-2016 (98.1 million tons).
