Russia’s Ag Ministry raised its forecast for grain production and exports


The Ag Ministry of Russia raised again its forecast for grain production in the country. According to the Ag Minister, a 127 MMT grain crop is only the beginning – farmers may harvest even 130 MMT, reports UkrAgroConsult.

In particular, the Ag Ministry expects a wheat crop of 81.4 MMT. Russia’s 2017/18 export potential will be 53.5 MMT. This includes a 45 MMT grain export forecast raised by the Ministry by 5 MMT.

As a reminder, Russia exported some 37 MMT of cereals and pulses in the 2016/17 season.
