Russia’s Ag Ministry reported success of the fat-an-oil industry in 2017

The fat-an-oil industry in Russia has been annually increasing 10% since two years ago, the Russia’s Ag Ministry reports.

Vegoil production in the first 11 months of 2017 was up 10.1% year-on-year. In terms of output volume, the leading regions included Krasnodar (680 KMT), Voronezh (670 KMT), Rostov (562 KMT), Kaliningrad (529 KMT) and Saratov (420 KMT).

9.6 MMT of sunseed was harvested in 2017, or 93% more than in 2010 (4.9 MMT). The five-year average of the past sunseed crops (2012−2016) equaled 9.2 MMT.

About 5.1 MMT of vegoils were produced in Russia during the 11 months that is up more than 500 KMT from the same time a year ago. Sunoil exports gained 36% in the nine months of 2017 (1.6 MMT).

The Russian Ag Ministry points out that the rise in the fat-and-oil industry’s output stems not only from increased potential of the oilseed market: an important role was also played by the upgrade of existing crushing facilities and the launch of new ones, reports UkrAgroConsult.
