Russian corn exports fell 22% y/y

Russia exported 522.8 KMT of corn in December 2017, or 7.4% less than in November 2017 and down 2% from December 2016.
In total, Russian corn exports have slowed down substantially since the beginning of MY 2017/18. So, they fell to 1.814 MMT in the first four months of the current season that is 22.4% or 523.2 KMT less than at the same time in MY 2016/17, reports UkrAgroConsult.
The top importer of Russian corn in September-December 2017 was Turkey – it absorbed 685.8 KMT. It was followed by Korea and Iran, which imported 451.3 and 318.1 KMT, respectively.
Russian corn was supplied to 22 countries in the first four months of MY 2017/18 against 36 countries in MY 2016/17.
As a reminder, Russia exported a record 5.64 MMT of corn in MY 2016/17.
