Russian exporters shipped 1.8 MMT of wheat to Bangladesh

Russia exported 2925 KMT of wheat in March 2017 – a record volume for this month. It is up 61% from the previous high of 1812 KMT hit in March 2016, UkrAgroConsult notes.

Expectedly, the top March importer of Russian wheat was Egypt. Russia supplied 1055 KMT (36%) of wheat to that market in March.

Shipments to Yemen and Sudan grew quite considerably. This season’s exports to Yemen are already up 28% from those for the whole last season (1030 KMT against 800 KMT), while deliveries to Sudan are up 19% (780 KMT against 655 KMT).

The market of Bangladesh became a true breakthrough for Russian wheat in the current season. Just over the past two seasons, Russia has managed to gain the position of the top wheat supplier to this country.

Russian exporters have supplied 1.8 MMT of wheat to this market since the beginning of 2016/17 – this is already 50% more than for the whole last season.
