Russian flour exports at a three-year low


Russian flour exports in July-September 2017/18 were down 21% year-over-year at 35.7 KMT. Moreover, this is the smallest volume since MY 2014/15, reports UkrAgroConsult.

According to preliminary information, Russia exported 14.2 KMT of flour in September 2018/19, or 73% more than in August, but 1.2% less than in September 2017/18.

Traditionally, China is still a major buyer of Russian flour. However, shipments to the country dropped to 13.1 KMT in the period under review against 30.2 KMT at the same time last year. However, Hong Kong imported more than 9.9 KMT of flour in July-September 2017/18 against 4.6 KMT in the whole of MY 2016/17. Georgia entered the top three importers of this season as the country stepped up imports of Russian flour to 3.2 KMT against 2.4 KMT in July-September 2017/18.
